Mike Bennett | Current Activity

Below, see a list of projects I’m currently involved with — more info here soon, but in the meantime please feel free to reach out to learn more!

  • Quantum Forge: A capstone experience in QISE for students looking for post-baccalaureate positions in industry
  • Q-SEnSE Research Exchange (QSRX): An internship program with a strong focus on connecting students historically underrepresented in STEM to workforce preparation and experience in QISE industry positions.
  • Professional Master’s in Quantum Engineering (PQME): Flexible professional training both for currently-employed QISE industry members and those looking for comprehensive preparation en route to a position.
  • QISE Simulations for Undergrads: Accessible conceptual simulations of QISE topics created through collaboration with CU’s PhET project.
  • Cross-Cutting QISE Activity: I’m lucky to collaborate with folks from a wide variety of academic institutions, QISE non-profits, quantum consortia, and even with folks from fields such as quantum ethics. Some of these projects include:
    • Advisory activity for QuSTEAM
    • Quantum ethics community development
    • Research on QISE student attitudes and beliefs
  • Advisory Activity in Informal Physics Education: I’m lucky to serve on the steering committee for the nascent Joint Network for Informal Physics Education and Research (JNIPER) network and in an advisory capacity for other informal physics education efforts such as on the American Physical Society’s Forum on Outreach and Engaging the Public.
